In making my hollow form made from two pinch pots, I realized there are challenges. One way to make smoothing a lot easier is using the paddle and rolling your form in your hand at the same time. When you hit the paddle against the clay it smooths and makes a flat even surface. This is my form cut in half.

Also, I find Mimbres pottery very interesting. Each design is different and unique. I have noticed each design seems to be evenly placed inside the pottery. All the designs on the bowl have the same art style. Each bowl I feel leaves a message. A lot of Mimbres pottery is made with animals inside the design. The Mimbres Pottery is a Spanish style pottery that was discovered near a river that runs through Mimbres Valley. The symetric design and layout of this style pottery is very intriguing and catches the eye like no other design!
